10 Ways to Be the Most Productive You Can Be

Welcome to another Do Good article!

This page is a part of the VideoJug site "Do Good", thus is centralized around providing lists of ways for you to save the world.

This list is focused on Tips and Tricks to being the most productive you can be. So what are you waiting for?

1. Getting Up Early : ever since sophmore year of  high school, I've noticed that rising early allows me to work insanely fast, feel like I'm the master of the day because I got up before the sun, and generally feel more in control of my life. It's a great exercise in becoming productive. Try it tomorrow. And when you don't feel like getting out of your warm, comfy bed for another few hours, slap yourself in the face and get up.

2. Hobbies : this may seem like it'll distract you more than aid you, but I've found that, when motivated by my favorite hobbies, all other aspects of life automatically seem more enjoyable. If I have a great idea for a new script, I am totally more willing to do crap at work just for the simple joy of getting home and vomiting my thoughts onto the paper.

3. Eating Healthy : this one is pretty obvious, and the effects are practically instantaneous. I have been eating a lot of junk food lately. And, consequently, I get headaches, body aches, and am tired all the time. Junk food sucks, man. It almost tastes good when you eat it, and almost immediately after you feel like shit. So don't even go there. Eating healthy is not that much more expensive: stores like Trader Joe's make it even cheaper at times. Make a quick sandwich at home: keep your fridge full of fruits to stuff you face with if you want a snack. Trust me, it pays off: energy-wise, attitude-wise, pain-wise. You will feel SO much better.

4. Set Goals : even if it's just a daily to-do list, or a long term dream, goals are extremely important to anyone who wants to be productive. They give you a finish line and more importantly inspiration. And when you reach a goal, you feel freaking awesome.

5. ENJOY THE RIDE : this is probably the most important of all of these tips. Make sure to stop, at least once a day, and just look around. Take a deep breath: smile. Notice what you're doing, all that you're getting accomplished, all that you need to do. Take it all in, and then tell it to get lost because you are going to enjoy the ride no matter what. Remember to smile.

6. Create Routines : I would recommend this for mornings especially, and any other time you want to work (evenings, afternoons, early wee hours of the morning). Routines help you feel like you have an important schedule to keep to, and thus you work harder and faster and get more done.

7. Smile : yes, I just said it above, but I just wanted to reiterate how important it is to smile. To your coworkers, classmates, teammates: show them that now matter what you have going on, a smile is what you wear. And I firmly believe that a good attitude always makes good things navigate towards you. Not all the time.

8. Indestructable Will : this sounds really epic, and it is. Having a will that can overcome ANY SETBACK will make you indestructable. Even if the project you're working on gets delayed every single time you try and work on it, don't lose hope. Hope is you most powerful tool. I believe that the harder something is to accomplish, the more "worth-it" it is. Dr. Gordon Moore said "If everything you're trying works, then you're not trying hard enough". Shooting for the moon is hard, but it's a risk that pays off.

9. Don't compare yourself to the person next to you : this only leads down a bad road. Concentrate on your own goals and your own self: you are unique, so what you do and the way you do it is different from everyone else.

10. Celebrate : make sure to spend time with family and friends. When something good happens, celebrate it! When something bad happens, celebrate it harder! From destruction comes creation, and thus, when shit happens, you can be sure that something good will grow out of it.

Alrightey, that's about it!

Hopefully these 10 new tips have helped you.

Admittedly, this article was more based on personal tips and tips on saving the world. But they're related, so I'm down.

Good luck with your adventures and your trials, and I hope the best for you.
