VENUS

Venus is always covered in thick layers of Carbon Dioxide [CO2] and Sulphuric Acid clouds, The atmosphere is said to be 96% CO2.. An actual image of the surface is shown from a Russian craft. The other images are computer generated from satellite data. The 3-D computer generated perspective at the top shows "Maat Mons," Venus’ largest 8km high volcano that shows distinct flows of lava. The surface of Venus presents many volcanoes and flowing lava.

Venus is about the size as Earth, and its 224 Earth day yearly orbits is nearly a perfect circle. Radar measurements show that that Venus' daily orbit on its axis is an opposite (retrograde) motion and requires 243 days. [Note, Astronomers do not know why Venus goes from West to East.] Due to this motion, the Sun would rise on the West and set on the East every 118 days. Although the Sun might be hidden by the clouds, two sunrise and sunsets occur each day. The "Greenhouse Gas" clouds trap heat making it a continual 460°C, and pressures estimated at 90 times higher than Earth’s. The thick could layers would also make a perpetual orange sky during the daytime. 

Also of interest is the varied surface of Venus, having been extensively mapped by Radar. There are two main continental-like upland regions called Ishtar Terra and Aphrodite Terra.

Wow! Astronomers seem to add support to an Astrology of Venus, YET this is the Planet Venus. The information and the numbers might seem a bit complex and strange. This is like the reality of Love, often left for artists to express. Consider the type of dream-realm lovers partake. The orange hues of the atmosphere with days that seem to last forever [even more than a year] complete with a set of two sunrises and sunsets. Who knows how magnificence of the potential colors of the Venus Sunrise and Sunset, being this much closer to Sun with many extended, high layers of cloud. Yes there is a degree of atmospheric pressure on Venus, and plenty of volcanoes …  sculpting the flows, hoping to capture the moments. Then there is the near perfectly circular orbit. Circles represents perfection. The CO2 could symbolically represent accumulations of exhaled, exclamations of love that stack many layers of continual clouds. [Note the Astronomers say the upper cloud layer at around 70 kilometers (44 miles) up  rotates every 4 days, with several definite cloud layers below this; however the below 30 km (19miles) the atmosphere is calm and clear. Remember that clouds on Earth rarely reach to 20 km.]

And yes it is hot on Venus, just like passion and the energies of love-making. And them remember the retrograde-opposite motion, also as if maintaining those heart-felt memories.

Now consider how even the earliest Astrologers and most humans beings see Venus. This is by far the brightest Star-like Light in the sky that appear as an Evening Star or Morning Star. Since Venus is a planet, it "wobbles" in its path through the stars. Venus is typically that "first star" that people "wish upon." Moreover Venus is closer to the Light (to the Sun) and thus can aptly represent our hopes and aspirations.

Of course we can very much interpret negative aspects of the Planet Venus and focus on rampant, never ending volcanic activities that fill the surface with trapped, unrepentent heat, sulfur, and new geological scars.

It also should be noted that the Classical Mayan and the Mesoamerican Indians appeared to correlate their sacred and yearly calendars on the observed 104 year Venus Cycle. [Two primary 52 year cycles equate to the 104 Venus Cycle.] Aptly named, Venus deserves to represent Love, Personal Affections, and the Appreciation we discover in Life.

The Goddess Symbol -

When thinking of Venus, many immediately dwell on the ancient Roman Goddess who represents love and beauty. Classical or even more modern painters can express their ideal vision of a perfect woman and call their inspirational work "Venus." As painting flourished in the European Renaissance, artists often represented the mythology of Venus and Cupid.

The Planet Symbol -

The planetary symbol of Venus is also used “biologically” as the symbol for women. [The Mars symbol is used for Men.] The Circle above can represent the Sun, or the Spirit, with the cross below as the Moon and Matter. Like in Womb containing the Power of Life, this Symbol can unite and ground the ultimate energies of life towards its climax. With such potential for power stems the negative associations of love.

As any Astrologer and Horoscope reveal, the primary interpretation of Venus connects to the Zodiac Sign where it is found. Is Venus in Aires, Cancer, Sagittarius et cetera? From here, Astrologers interpret primary conjunctive, triangle, square, and opposing relationships with the other primary Planets and thie Zodiac Houses. An overview of the General Astrology will share certain key aspects of Venus.  

In a Personal Astrological Chart, Venus typical represents the magnetic-like, compelling, ideal power surrounding its symbol of Beauty and Love. Consider Social Urges, Affections, Appreciations connected to Values and Attractiveness, even the Love for the Beautiful and Luxury. Reverse the Positive Qualities and Venus can negatively influence with Superficiality, Vacillation, Evasion, and Indifference.

Venus in Art - 

Artists often express the feelings of Love and Beauty surrounding Venus. Below are two paintings showing qualities of Venus. "Venus and Cupid" presents: angelic qualities surrounding love, the symbolic Rose being help up, the material flowers and petals fallen to Earth, and a Dove image to represent the Spirit. This oil painting connects Spirit and Matter from the Symbol, Beauty and Affection in the Facial Expressions, and of course Love. The sometimes unreachable desire to access Beauty and then the fallen flowers can hint at potential negatives.

This painting from Titian [done in 1520], also attempts to capture thoughts, feelings and activities surrounding "The Worship of Venus." Note that the Venus Circle and Cross Symbol is added atop the opened Shell, which could also be an oil lamp. Titian is said to base this painting on the ancient Greek writings of Venus from Philostraturs. Cupid collects apples for Venus. Please take note of various activities amount the children.
