Inspire Your Wardrobe
So you want some inspiration behind your wardrobe?
You are not alone, Some people when shopping just look for anything that looks good on them. This is not a bad thing but there is a better way to put together a stylish and chic wardrobe that reflects your own personal style. Just walking blindly into a retail store can be completely overwhelming and stressful especially when you are trying to re-vamp your wardrobe. There is a way to know what you are looking for, find it, and get out without the stress.
The way to accomplish this is to create an inspiration or mood board. As a fashion designer I create a mood board before every collection or individual piece that I make. Inspiration is not only what is behind good design but good shopping as well. Once you have your inspiration board shopping will be a breeze because you will already know what you are looking for. It also helps refine your style and keep it cohesive.

What You Need
- Cork Board (or poster board e.t.c)
- Fashion Magazines (or other magazines that fit your asthetic)
- thumbtacs, glue, scissors
- creativity
Time to complete (about 20-30 minutes +)
What To Do Now?
Gather all of your supplies and flip through the magazines you have. Now look for things that inspire you and reflect your personal style or the direction you want to take your style. It could be color swatches or garment's. It could be anything that strikes your interest. Now take all of your pictures and arrange it on your cork board. It can be any way you want. This is all about you and your own style and inspiration's. Just make sure you are putting together something that reflects yourself. This is something that is supposed to motivate you and help you put together a cohesive wardrobe that most importantly reflects who you are or who you want to be.
Now to the fun part...shopping! It should be much easier to shop once you are done with your inspiration board because you have something to guide you. If it doesn't seem to fit your inspiration or the direction you want to take your personal style then you know to just put it back on the rack. When you do buy clothing that fits your inspiration you will feel much more confident about your style! But wait...The fun thing is your style and inspiration always changes, So each season you can find new and exciting things that inspire you and your wardrobe!
