Estonians in a big world

I am happy to say, that there are so many estonians, who are good and successful outside Estonia. Few years ago one Estonian publishing house named Petrone Print started to publish new kind of books here. Books about estonians, who moved to another, foreign, country to live-study-work-volunteer work and how did they do there, far awy from their families and things they are used to. And how they managed there and did they liked it.

There are story about Finland, Island, America, Spain, Argentina, Mongolia. Justine Petrone, for example (his foreigner), wrote about his life in Estonia. And story about Denmark is written by my friend. Cool, isn’t it?

Name of the books series starts always with word „Minu“ what means „My“. „My Estonia“ („Minu Eesti“), „My London“ („Minu London“) and so on and so on.

My most favourite book had been Roy Strider’s „My Mongolia“. Roy seems to be an actual travel-writer, so it’s no miracle, that his book is very good and interestind, adventurous. But while most of them moved away to live there, then Roy stayed in Mongolia about one month.

There are so many „My“ books, but i haven’t read them all. I have bought some of them („My Denmark“ of course for example) and i do that only when i need them on my bookshelf. But the others, i just want to read, i will bring from the library. But there are one big problems – it’s hard to get them from there, coz they are always out of the library. Everybody wants to read those books. Day, when i can borrow them, is a day with a little miracle : )

That means – publisher found a golden zone with that idea. People in Estonia likes to rad something good, something from ordinary people like themselves. Something about other countries, coz not all of us can move away (or want to do it). Something about estonians.

And i am glad, that Petrone Print gives us the oppurtunity to do that!
